Text Box: Johnny’s recording career spans 5 decades. He has 6 #1 international hits and hundreds of charted records worldwide. He has 9 top 10 hits and 15 top 40 Hits on the Billboard charts in the USA alone. His records have charted 48 times on Billboard’s Pop, Country, Adult Contemporary and Album charts. This accomplishment makes Johnny one of the top 100 recording artists of the Rock Era. Some of his biggest records include “Poetry In Motion”, “Without You”, “Talk Back Trembling Lips,” “It Keeps Right On A Hurtin,” “Send Me The Pillow You Dream On,” “You Can Never Stop Me Loving You,” “She Understands Me,” “Worry,” “Dreamy Eyes,” “Heartaches By The Number,” and many more.

Johnny is credited as one of the forerunners in making Country Music popular in the Pop field along with Ray Charles and was one of the first cross over artists.

His composition “It Keeps Right On A Hurtin” has been recorded by over 110 artists, including Elvis Presley, Dean Martin, Bobby Darin, Conway Twitty, Eddy Arnold, Billy Joe Royal, Hank Locklin, Sonny James, Boots Randolph and many more to numerous to mention here.

In addition to the US releases Johnny has had hits and #1 records in many countries (England, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, France, Germany, Japan, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Israel, Chile, Argentina, Barbados, and others.) Including “Judy, Judy, Judy” “Cutie Pie” “Why Do I Love You So”

“You Can Never Stop Me Loving You” “I Love Loving You” and more. He recorded in 5 Languages: English  - Spanish - Italian - German - Japanese. In Japan he had several  #1 hits “Namida Kun Sayonara”, “You and Me,” among other hits in both the English and Japanese language. He is the recipient of the Mt. Fuji award for outstanding sales. Johnny recorded the theme song to the popular TV Series “Gidget” starring Sally Field. He recorded the song “Angel” for the Disney movie “Those Calloways” starring Brian Keith and Linda Evans. His song of “Dreamy Eyes” appeared in the Australian film “Tunnel Vision.” His recording “You’ve Got the Touch” appeared in the movie “Tough Enough” starring Dennis Quaid. Johnny’s songs “Poetry In Motion,” “Cutie Pie,” “One Red Rose” and his version of “All I Have To Do Is Dream” have appeared on various TV programs, in commercials and in movie fare around the world. “Send Me The Pillow That You Dream On” was featured in the 2006 TV series “Daybreak”.
